Nikko Patrelakis was born in Athens, studied music and mathematics, and he is a multidisciplinary artist working around the world. He is releasing albums, singles and compilations under the general electronic/idm music genre since 1989. He has written music for theatrical plays and featured films, working with directors like C. Yianaris and G. Lanthimos. He composed music for international events, including the ceremonies of the Olympic Games 2004, in Athens. He has co-composed and produced “Voice” with Paul McCartney, as a fund raiser for people with disabilities.
Alongside, as a dj he is contributing to the development of Greek club culture, with residencies in renowned clubs of the country.
He is co-founder of DOC TV project, the community online magazine for cultural and social affairs. He is managing the production group Specials Digital Athens, with which he has created and produced image and sound for international and greek organizations and companies.
He directed and produced the visuals for the historical reunion live of iconic band Stereo Nova, at Stauros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, in 2018. In 2020, he directed and produced the visuals for the performance “O Kosmos einai enas” by K.Bhta, at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, at SNFCC.
“Neapoly”, the electronica project composed and produced by K.Bhta & Nikko Patrelakis, was released in June 2022. The project premiered live with four concerts, at the Alternative Stage of Greek National Opera, with videos directed and produced by Nikko. The sold-out concerts were repeated in April 2023, once more at GNO. In July 2023, he designed and directed the videos for Stereo Nova’s live concert at Release Athens Festival.
Omni, his sixth personal album is out now. It includes nine genre-agnostic electronic tracks that form a continuous story, where forms are fluid, pure electronica blends with classical minimalism, acid sounds travel through orchestras, without guilt, without norms and necessary paths, a kind of creative freedom Nikko needs to convey.
